About Writing

What is the Tapestree System?

At the Tapestree System’s core is the ability to produce new stories from original ones. Much like its namesake, the Tapestree System is much like a tree: A Seed (the origin material) is planted and the Branches (the material others have added, revised, remade, etc) sprout. For example, if “The First Book Ever” had been written by “The First Author Ever”, other authors could expand on the book, or specific sections of it, by creating Branches. Expanding could be anything from new and unique side stories to alternative universes to even a complete change of genre and style. Furthermore, Branches can sprout more Branches! Champion chronicles you enjoy with free access to an ever-growing library or nurture a network with stories of your own. Whether you decide to branch upon another writer’s world or plant a seed for others to read, you’ll be engaging meaningfully, supporting grassroot creators, and earning money.

Writer Incentives

WordWeve is in an open beta right now. During the open beta we have no way for writers to monetize their content without reaching out to us. If you want to join the Paid Program, feel free to contact us! We would love to have you. Whether in the Paid Program or not, accounts that grow will keep their growth when the change to monetize more easily is made.

Why should I make a Branch if I can just Seed my own story?

What a silly question! In creating your own Branch, you are engaging with an author who’s story you’ve read. The narrative is no longer a one-way experience, but a two-way conversation. Not only will you make valuable connections such as close friends or beta readers this way, but you will attract a crowd that perhaps the original style failed to gather. This way, both you (the Branch writer) and the author (the Seed writer) can learn, gain viewership, and engage meaningfully with one another. Whether Branching or Seeding, there is no limit to how much you can write, so you had better write away!

What is fair use?

The doctrine that excerpts of copyright material may be reused under certain circumstances without receiving permission from the copyright owner. Due to the varying and ever-changing nature of fair use and copyright, we expect users to do their due diligence in writing and reporting. Depending on your location, circumstance, and even date, the situation regarding a piece of material may change. If a piece of material on Wordweve is found to breach fair use then we will remove the content and the posting user may be subject to account penalties.

Something’s not working

Currently we are in an open beta, so we are still working out kinks and striving for improvements in this system! You can notify us through our contact page. We thank you for your understanding, and any help you may provide!
